The Importance of bathroom organization – YES, it matters!
Bathroom organization may not be the most glamorous topic, but let's face it - a cluttered bathroom can be a real buzzkill. No one wants to start their day searching for a toothbrush under a pile of makeup wipes and expired sunscreen.
Plus, a messy bathroom can be a breeding ground for all kinds of grossness (mold, anyone?).
So, it's important to keep your bathroom tidy and well-organized.
Not only will it save you time and energy, but it'll also give you a sense of control in our current world that often feels chaotic.
Just think of all the Instagram-worthy mirror selfies you'll be able to take in your sparkling-clean bathroom.
#bathroomgoals, anyone?

Best Bathroom Organizers - 5 Quick Picks
(Check out the rest of the recommendations below.)
Quick Overview Of This Article
Okay, so you decided to tackle organizing your bathroom.
Fear not, my fellow organizer friend, in this article we’ll go over some simple products to help you solve all your bathroom clutter woes with some seriously slick storage solutions.
From shower caddies to under-the-sink organizers, these bathroom gadgets will have your toothbrushes and Q-tips neatly arranged in no time.
And who knows, with everything in its place, you might even be able to find that floss you lost four months ago.
Now that's a victory worth celebrating!
Aaaallrighty then…
Let's go over some of the best bathroom organizers!
Shower Caddy Organizers
Shower organizers come in all shapes and sizes, from the classic shower caddy to the more elaborate over-the-door baskets. You can even get a shower organizer with suction cups - because apparently, we're all living in a world where suction cups are the pinnacle of modern technology.
But let's not forget about the humble shower shelf, perfect for holding your shampoo, conditioner, and that weird loofah you're not quite sure how to use. (You’re not alone…)
And for the truly bougie among us, there are even shower organizers with built-in Bluetooth speakers. Because gosh darn it, we can't shower in peace without playing some Taylor Swift or Snoop Dogg.
Whatever your preference, there's a shower organizer out there for everyone.
So, let's get organized and turn our shower into a sanctuary. Or at least a slightly less chaotic place to wash our hair.
(Ummm yeah, I didn’t choose one with Bluetooth because all of those just kinda sucked anyway.)
Since these will constantly be exposed to water and high humidity from the shower, it's important to get one that will not rust. These mentioned will remain rust-free!
Also, try not to select a chrome-colored caddy; These will eventually rust faster on the small weld points on the bottom.
It's best to go with a dark color.
Benefits of using a shower organizer
Using a shower organizer isn't just about being organized - it's about achieving a higher level of shower enlightenment.
(Too exaggerated? Good.)
Picture this: you step into your beautifully organized shower, everything in its rightful place.
You reach for your favorite body wash, but instead of fumbling around for it and knocking over your spouse’s favorite conditioner, it's right there at arm's length.
You exfoliate with ease, knowing that your loofah is safely stored away from the grime and mold of the shower floor. And as you rinse off, you feel a sense of calm wash over you - because who needs the chaos of a disorganized shower when you can have the tranquility of a perfectly placed drying towel?
So go ahead, invest in one of these shower organizers. Your shower experience (and your sanity) will thank you.
Vanity & Countertop Organizers
Ah, vanity and countertop organizers, the unsung heroes of our bathroom routines.
They come in different shapes and sizes, from sleek and minimalist to overflowing with compartments like a mini storage unit. It's like choosing between a tiny house or a mansion, but for your toiletries.
And let's not forget the fun of trying to fit all your products into a designated spot, only to realize you've accidentally bought the one with compartments too small for your favorite makeup.
But hey, at least it looks cute sitting on your countertop, right?
Below are my top selections that range from different sizes to slightly different styles.
Benefits of Using a Vanity Organizer
Using a vanity organizer is like having a personal assistant for your beauty routine. It's there to keep you organized, remind you of what you already have, and prevent you from buying your 10th tube of red lipstick (everyone has their weaknesses).
Plus, it saves you from digging through a black hole of makeup bags in the morning, desperately searching for your favorite eyeliner.
And let's be real, the satisfaction of seeing all your products neatly arranged in their designated spots is almost as satisfying as nailing a perfect cat-eye (that’s a thing, right?).
So go ahead and treat yourself and your bathroom to one of these organizers – your inner beauty guru will also thank you.
Bathroom Drawer Organizers
Types of drawer organizers
There are several types of bathroom drawer organizers to help you keep your toiletries and beauty products organized:
- Compartmentalized organizers: These organizers feature different compartments of various sizes to separate your items.
- Expandable organizers: These are adjustable to fit different drawer sizes.
- Stackable organizers: These organizers stack on top of one another to create multiple layers of storage.
- Trays: These are flat trays with dividers or sections to keep items separated.
- Modular organizers: These can be customized with different inserts and trays to fit your specific needs.
- Pull-out organizers: These organizers slide out from the drawer for easy access and can include shelves, baskets, or compartments.
Stackable and pull-out ones sometimes to take up too much space in average sized bathroom drawers.
This is because they're usually too tall and prevent the drawer from closing properly.
Modular ones tend to not latch together very well. Or sometimes the small plastic piece that latches them together just breaks off. I'd stay away from these.
Keeping all this in mind, below are the best ones that would fit pretty much any drawer, have the most durability, and will offer you the most functionality.
With the right one, you can save time and frustration by quickly finding those darn Q-Tips that seem to end up in every nook and cranny of all your drawers.

Medicine Cabinet Organizers
Types of Medicine Cabinet Organizers
The good ol’ medicine cabinet - the place where we keep everything from Band-Aids to expired cough syrup (oops!).
Luckily, there are several types of organizers to help you keep your cabinet tidy:
- Tiered organizers: These are mini shelves that create multiple levels of storage.
- Magnetic organizers: These stick to the inside of the cabinet door, providing additional storage space.
- Lazy Susan organizers: These spin like a lazy Susan, making it easy to access all your items without knocking over the entire contents of the cabinet.
- Drawer organizers: These slide out like a little drawer, making it easy to see everything in the back of the cabinet.
- Wall-mounted organizers: These hang on the wall next to your medicine cabinet, providing additional storage space for items like toothbrushes and razors.
Even though there are 5 different types, some of them won't really work for the average sized medicine cabinet. The inside dept measurement of an average medicine cabinet is far too thin to fit something like a Lazy Susan or a drawer style organizer.
Wall-mounted ones aren't good either because they can potentially fall off while being inside your cabinet.
From a practical standpoint, below are the ones I've found to work best across most (if not all) medicine cabinets.
With the right organizer, you can transform your medicine cabinet from a chaotic mess to a well-organized oasis. And who knows, maybe you'll even find that long-lost bottle of aspirin from three years ago. (You should throw that away, just in case.)
Under The Sink Organizers
The Benefits & Different Types of Under Sink Organizers
Under the sink organizers tackle the forgotten depths of the bathroom, where everything from spare toilet paper to cleaning supplies lurk.
There are classic tiered organizers, providing multiple levels of storage for your various cleaning products.
These tend to be my favorite because some of them have the ability for the tiers to slide out.
Don’t worry, I’ve provided you with TOP TIER recommendations below.
Then there are the stackable organizers, perfect for oddly shaped items like hair dryers and curling irons.
And let's not forget, the kinda-forgotten, tension rod organizers. These hang from the top of the cabinet to create extra shelf space (yep, these are a thing).
I found that these aren’t the best and have a tendency to fall once the tension gives out over time, so I’ll spare you the trouble and NOT include them in the recommendations.
With under the sink organizers, you can finally conquer the black hole that is your bathroom cabinet. Just be careful not to get lost in there – who knows what you'll find!
Toilet Area Organizers
The Benefits & Different Types of Toilet Area Organizers
Toilet area organizers are like the secret agents of the bathroom world.
They quietly and efficiently keep everything in its place, without drawing too much attention to themselves.
I would say there are 4 main types here:
Top 3 - Around The Toilet Organizers
Top 5 - Toilet Paper Holders
For these, I prefer to hang the roll seperately from where my toilet papers rolls are stored.
Why? Because I find that if you use an all-in-one holder (like the pic below), it'll move around a lot when you're pulling paper from it.
However, if you don't have a spot to mount the standalone toilet paper holder - fear not!
I've provided a recommendation for an all-in-one holder below that has a bit of weight to it, to help with movement.
Top 3 - Top Of The Toilet Caddies
Top 3 - Over The Toilet Storage
I personally dislike bigger wire shelving. There are some of these storage shelves that have thin metal wiring as the shelves which are a pain because some items will either slip through the gaps or will sit awkwardly.
For smaller shelving products this isn't as big of an issue.
However, the storage options listed below not only look great, but will all have more solid based shelves.
Also, a friendly note and reminder: Please take measurements to make sure whichever product you select will fit your bathroom. "Measure twice, buy once!"
With a well-organized toilet area, you'll never have to worry about running out of toilet paper mid-use or fumbling for the plunger in a bathroom emergency.
So, here's to you toilet area organizers – the silent saviors of the bathroom.
Commonly Asked Questions
Q: "How do I make my bathroom look organized?"
A: Honestly, consolidating your items neatly will be your best bet!
Here my 4 biggest recommendations for you:
- Make your bathroom seems like there is more open space. Clearing up your countertop tends to make the biggest difference here.
- Group similar items together (i.e. hair products in one area, towels in another area, lotion in a different section, etc.)
- Hide your less-used items. Store them away neatly in a drawer or cabinet. (i.e. Do you really need to have that bottle of hydrogen peroxide out in the open? Didn’t think so.)
- Adding extra shelving and/or other storage mediums. Take advantage of some of the extra space you have. Just don’t go too overboard!
Q: "Where should toiletries be placed in a bathroom?"
A: Things like antiperspirants, razors, etc. can be stored away out of sight, like inside of a cabinet.
I like to have my own dedicated shelf space inside my small cabinet for these items.
Extra toilet paper can be stored away somewhere else that’s out of sight, but still within reach (I don’t need to explain why…).
Q: "How should I organize under my bathroom sink?"
A: Easy; An under the sink organizer will do the trick (see the recommendations above).
They’ll keep all your different-sized items well organized. Plus, these organizers tend to increase the amount of space under your sink for additional items.
Q: "How can I hide my personal items in my bathroom?"
A: My biggest tip would be to purchase some sort of cabinet. I bought this cabinet from Ikea, and it’s been life changing.
I store my more personal items inside there, plus all the other excess bathroom-related items (i.e. extra toothpaste, extra cotton swabs, etc.)
Q: "How do I organize the top of my bathroom vanity?"
A: Start by removing all the unnecessary crap that you know is trash and throw that away.
Then, store away anything that you don’t use daily. Place these items inside a cabinet, on top of a shelf, or under your sink. Group together anything that’s closely related so it’s easier to find next time.
Also, consider getting a countertop organizer like one of the ones recommended above.
And finally, add a bit of style to anything that YOU or your GUESTS may use on every bathroom trip.
You wash your hands after every bathroom trip (at least, I hope so!), so why not get a simple but more fancy soap dispenser? Do you have a bar of soap available for you or your guests? Cool, you can add one of these cool soap holders.
Organizing your bathroom vanity isn’t simply about cleaning; It’s also about upgrading certain aesthetics!
Makes it that much more fun
Conclusion & Final Thoughts – Long story short…
Organizing your own bathroom is important for sanitary reasons, and it's also just better visually.
By using a combination of the recommendations provided in this article, you'll get all that mess under control.
Start by identifying a small area in your bathroom where you've got the most items that are disorganized.
I would definitely start with these 2 areas: Under the sink and the area around the toilet.
Then, check out the best bathroom organizers mentioned above and treat yourself!
