About Us

So, what’s MHI all about?

Juan Aguilar

Hey there!

I’m Juan and I’m the creator of MHI (MyHomeImproving).

Ever since I got my house I’ve been on a DIY path to make different improvements and fixes, on a budget!

When I first moved in, I was clueless about home projects and home maintenance. I couldn’t afford to hire contractors to fix existing problems. So, I rolled up my sleeves and began my research journey…

Here I am below looking very cool outside of my house 1 week after the closing. All I needed was sunglasses. (Seriously though, this Texas sun was hitting my face so much that I was squinting hard while this picture was taken lol.)

Me, outside of my house

(And please ignore the ugly lawn. It looks a lot prettier now!)

Through trial, error, frustration, scrapes, and scratches I’ve learned a few things and wanted to share that knowledge with others.

Everyone has their own voice, so why can’t I use mine in my own little corner of the internet?

That’s why I decided to create this website…

MyHomeImproving was created out of my own necessity, excitement, and curiosity.

The main goal of this website is to provide you with actionable, practical, and useful content on anything home-related, without it being so dang confusing.

MHI provides home improvement and repair info for folks who don’t work professionally in remodeling or construction. No complicated BS – just stuff that works.

You’ll find all sorts of valuable content here that will hopefully help you too. I’d like to share all the useful info that I learned from all corners of the internet, books, random videos, etc.

(Many of us can relate to this doggo.)

Over time, I developed a deep passion for learning how to fix, optimize, and improve things around the house.

I began reading books on home improvement (which I still haven’t finished <img decoding=), watched hours of how-to videos, learned tips, and read through TONS of articles.

Honestly, it’s been really fun and rewarding!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and find value in our content. If I’m able to help YOU live a little more comfortably in your house, then I know I’ve done something good. (Plus, you’ll get a meme or two along the way – free of charge.)

If you have any questions or just want to say hello, feel free to email me anytime at juan@myhomeimproving.com.

Take care, be awesome, and keep learning!

All the best,

Juan Aguilar
